Besides Saving Space, What Other Advantages Do These New Transformers Offer?


The biggest surprise is the dual upgrade in safety and noise reduction. For example, pad-mounted transformers fully enclose switches and fuses within sealed oil tanks, reducing the risk of accidental contact by residents to virtually zero. Prefabricated substations adopt fully insulated designs, keeping operating noise below 50 decibels—about as quiet as the sound of pages turning in a library—eliminating complaints about the familiar "buzzing" noise.

Can these new devices be used directly in the renovation of old residential communities?
Absolutely. For example, in an old residential community in Xicheng District, Beijing, a buried-type box substation was used to replace the original outdoor transformer. The equipment was installed in an underground chamber about 1.5 meters below ground, with only a landscape panel visible on the surface. This approach neither occupied parking spaces nor disrupted the community’s environment.
In addition, thanks to the plug-and-play prefabricated design, the renovation period was reduced from two months to just one week, causing minimal disturbance to residents.



Designed for Urban Distribution Network Performance

Load-Adaptive Voltage Regulation

Equipped with an intelligent voltage regulation module, the transformer can respond in real time to urban distribution network fluctuations, such as concentrated fast charging of EVs or peak-valley load changes in commercial buildings (e.g., morning and evening peaks). It automatically fine-tunes the output voltage with ±0.5% accuracy, preventing over- or under-voltage at end users and adapting to dynamic changes in city electricity demand.

One-Stop Sourcing Solution

Featuring a low-noise core and vibration-damping base, transformer operating noise is kept below 45 dB — equivalent to normal conversation. The vibration-isolation structure further minimizes vibration transmission, making the equipment suitable for installation in noise-sensitive urban areas such as residential neighborhoods, hospitals, and schools.

Rigorous Quality Assurance

Integrated sensors for temperature, humidity, partial discharge, and oil-immersed systems enable real-time monitoring of operating conditions. Data is directly connected to the urban distribution network dispatch platform, allowing early warnings for overheating, insulation aging, and other faults, thereby reducing unplanned downtime in city distribution networks.
